FreshSpring needs a quick rinse once a week. Pull it apart, three filter pieces and the pump rinse under running water in about two minutes. Replace the filter every four weeks. The triple filtration keeps the water itself clean for the full week between rinses, no slimy build up.

Every four weeks for a single cat household. Sooner if you have multiple cats or a long haired cat that sheds heavily. The filter darkens visibly when it is time, so you do not have to track it. Replacement filters are available in the Nordi Paw store.

For two cats, the tank lasts about five days between refills. For three cats or a household with a dog who also drinks from it, expect to refill every three days. The 3 litre size is designed for one to three pets. Larger households should consider two units.
